FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What are peptides?
Peptides are short chains of amino acids linked together by peptide bonds. They are smaller than most proteins and are widely studied in biochemical, molecular, and laboratory research.
Is it legal to sell peptides in the United States for research purposes?
The legal status of a peptide product depends on factors such as the compound, its labeling, intended use, marketing, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Biofusion Compounds products are offered strictly for laboratory research and analytical use. They are not intended for human or animal consumption, diagnostic procedures, therapeutic use, or household use.
Customers are responsible for confirming that the purchase, possession, handling, and use of any research material complies with the laws and regulations that apply in their location.
Relevant regulatory materials may include:
- 21 U.S.C. §321(g)(1)
- 21 CFR §809.10
- FDA guidance concerning products labeled for research use
This information is provided for general educational purposes and does not constitute legal advice.
How do I use peptides?
Biofusion Compounds cannot provide instructions relating to personal use, administration, dosage, reconstitution for administration, or treatment.
Our products are supplied exclusively for qualified laboratory research, analytical testing, and scientific investigation. Researchers should follow their institution’s approved protocols, safety procedures, and applicable regulations.
Do I need a prescription to purchase products from Biofusion Compounds?
Biofusion Compounds does not sell prescription medicines or products intended for personal use.
Our materials are offered only for laboratory research and testing. They are not intended for human consumption, veterinary use, diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of any condition.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that they are authorized to purchase and use the materials under all applicable laws and institutional requirements.
How should research peptides be stored?
Storage requirements may differ by product and format. In general, unopened lyophilized research materials should be kept sealed, protected from light, and stored in a cool, dry environment.
Some products may require refrigerated or frozen storage. Always review the product label, specification sheet, or Certificate of Analysis for product-specific storage information.
Avoid repeated exposure to heat, moisture, direct sunlight, and large temperature changes.
How long does shipping take?
Orders are generally processed within 24–48 hours.
Estimated delivery time is typically 7–12 business days, depending on the destination, shipping service, customs processing, and carrier conditions.
Secure packaging and tracking information are included. Tracking details are sent after the shipment has been prepared and accepted by the carrier.
Weather, customs inspections, public holidays, remote destinations, and carrier disruptions may affect the estimated delivery time.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. Biofusion Compounds ships to many international destinations.
Availability, transit time, customs requirements, import restrictions, duties, and taxes vary by country. Customers are responsible for confirming that the products may be legally imported, received, possessed, and used in their destination.
Any customs duties, import taxes, brokerage charges, or related fees are the responsibility of the recipient unless otherwise stated during checkout.
What payment methods do you accept?
Available payment methods are displayed during checkout and may vary by country, currency, order value, and payment-provider availability.
Depending on the order, available options may include major credit or debit cards and selected digital payment methods.
Please use only the payment methods shown on the official Biofusion Compounds checkout page.

What is HPLC testing, and why is it used in peptide analysis?
High-Performance Liquid Chromatography, commonly called HPLC, is an analytical method used to separate the individual components of a sample.
During testing, a prepared sample moves through a chromatography column under controlled conditions. Different components pass through the system at different rates, producing a chromatogram that can be used to estimate the relative amount of the target compound and detectable impurities.
HPLC is commonly used when assessing peptide purity because it provides detailed separation data. However, an HPLC purity result alone does not confirm every characteristic of a sample. Identity testing, mass analysis, and other analytical methods may also be appropriate.
Batch-specific information is provided in the applicable Certificate of Analysis when available.
What is a Certificate of Analysis?
A Certificate of Analysis, or COA, is a batch-related document that summarizes selected quality-control results for a material.
Depending on the product and testing performed, a COA may include:
- Product name
- Batch or lot number
- Appearance
- Tested strength
- Purity result
- Analytical method
- Molecular-weight information
- Solubility or other specifications
- Testing or certification date
A COA allows researchers to review the reported specifications associated with a particular product or batch. Available documents can be found through the Biofusion Compounds COA page.
What purity level do Biofusion Compounds products have?
Purity specifications vary by product and batch.
Biofusion Compounds aims to supply research materials that meet the purity specification shown on the relevant product page and Certificate of Analysis. Many products are listed at 98% purity or higher, while certain batches may show results exceeding 99%.
Customers should rely on the batch-specific COA rather than a general purity statement. Independent verification may also be performed by the customer or their chosen analytical laboratory.
A purity percentage describes the relative chromatographic purity reported by the stated method. It should not be interpreted as proof of suitability for human or animal use.
What does “For Research Use Only” mean?
“For Research Use Only,” or RUO, means that the product is supplied solely for legitimate laboratory research, analytical testing, educational work, and scientific investigation.
RUO products are not intended for:
- Human consumption
- Animal consumption
- Medical or veterinary treatment
- Diagnostic procedures
- Personal use
- Household use
- Food, cosmetic, or drug manufacturing
Purchasers are responsible for using the materials only within appropriate laboratory settings and in accordance with applicable laws, institutional policies, and safety procedures.
Can I view batch-specific test results for my order?
Available Certificates of Analysis are organized by product name, batch number, or lot information on our COA page.
To locate the correct document, compare the product and batch details shown on your packaging with the information listed in the COA library.
A COA may contain HPLC results, identity-related information, appearance, tested strength, and other reported quality metrics, depending on the analysis performed.
If you cannot locate the document for your batch, contact customer service and provide:
- Your order number
- Product name
- Batch or lot number
- Checkout email address
Our support team will help confirm whether the relevant document is available.
